In 1925, Brownie and companion Len Robertson were the first people recorded who successfully traversed the dangerous, and until then, considered to be impassable section of the Limpopo River from Beit Bridge "Crooks Corner", the triangular boundary between South Africa, Mozambique, (Portuguese East Africa) and Zimbabwe (Rhodesia).
